Suzi Weiss-Fischmann, co-founder and creative director of OPI Products, will be the honoree at the Delete Blood Cancer gala being held May 1, 2013 at Cipriani Wall Street. Delete Blood Cancer is the world’s largest bone marrow donor center for blood cancer patients. The event honors those who have worked with the organization and Weiss-Fischmann is being recognized for her work and dedication to the center. Glenda Bailey, editor-in-chief of Harper’s Bazaar, will present the award.

Coty, Inc. (parent company of OPI) has been involved in the organization since its inception over 20 years ago. Delete Blood Cancer DKMS was founded in Germany by former Coty Chairman Peter Harf whose wife died of an aggressive form of blood cancer.  More than 34,000 bone marrow donors have saved lives through recruitment by Delete Blood Cancer DKMS.

“I am so grateful for DKMS’ gracious acknowledgement of OPI’s efforts to help in spreading awareness,” said Weiss-Fischmann. “Blood cancer is a disease that has touched so many lives, and both OPI and Coty, Inc. have taken their roles in providing support for Delete Blood Cancer very seriously.  It is so easy to make all the difference in the world—one quick cheek swab is all it takes to become a potential donor.”

OPI recently launched the OPI Loves DKMS campaign to raise awareness of the fight against blood cancers. Visit opi.com.
