Matrix’s new Colorgraphics Lacquer collection works for statement-making hair color effects.
The six semipermanent Lacquer shades come in vivid yellow, orange, red, purple, magenta and clear and can be applied full-strength or intermixed for ranges from pure tones to pastel shades.
Matrix’s Colographics Play Book educational guide features illustrations by fashion illustrator Izak Zenou for creative, bright imagery to accompany step-by-step color processes.
GET THE LOOK: Shine Line
STEP 1: Create a triangle that extends from the outside of the corner of each eye to top of head. Clip for control.
STEP 2: Starting approximately 1 inch from the hairline, take a horizontal slice and place on foil. Using a side-brushing technique, apply formula to mid-section only. This technique is designed to accent the shine line.
STEP 3: Working your way up, continue to take horizontal slices and lay directly on top of previous section. Using previous section as a guide, repeat application of formula in same manner. Lay foil on top to protect and process accordingly.
STEP 4: Rinse thoroughly, cleanse and condition.
Pro Tip: For a more subtle shine line, do not color the last top section of hair. Protect the uncolored hair by placing a foil beneath the last section.
