"This was Janesa's first time seeing me," says Gina Atkinson (@ginaatkinson) of Sola Salon, Las Vegas. "She had highlights when she came in that she didn't love. The color was a bit on the warm side for her and the highlights didn't blend as much as she would have loved so she decided to go for more of a balayage to make the look more 'natural' and lived in."
Here Atkinson shares the HOW TO:
Step 1: Prepare two shades: Redken Blonde dimensions starting with 10v. and also Redken Shades EQ 6n+7nb equal parts.
Step 2: Section out the Mohawk section (save for last) start in the front panel balayage the lightener in a "V" shape inside the foil.
Step 3: Feather in the lowlight between the V pattern (to cover the pre existing highlights).
Step 4: Continue around the head. With each remix of lightener up the developer by 10 volume around the head, finishing with 30vol in the Mohawk section.
Step 5: Process for 15 minutes after applying the last foil in the Mohawk section.
Step 6: Rinse and towel dry the hair. Apply Redken Shades EQ 9nb+9b equal parts over the blonde.
Step 7: Process for 20 minutes and then shampoo and condition the hair.
