Kasey Rials (@kasey.hair) from House of Color Hair Studio, Colorado Springs, Colorado, says:
"After 8 months of being blonde and a couple years of growing her hair out, my client decided she wanted a change. She has a busy schedule and being blonde was just too much maintenance for her, always leaving her grown out and yellow. She didn't have any inspiration pictures of either a cut or color, so we brainstormed and decided to go with a blunt 'lob' just about collarbone length–which works great for her fine, super straight hair."
Color was another story. "I recommended a deep red. Her skin is fair and her eyes are very blue, so I thought it would look stunning! Given the fact that she was used to being blonde, I never thought she would go for it, but she agreed!"
Rials decided to go with a more natural root to keep it a little less noticeable when her roots grow in, since she wasn't always able to make it in for touch ups.
Here Rials shares the how-to for the new shade:
Step 1: To the base apply Kenra - 5N and 4RB (equal parts) + 10 volume.
Step 2: Melt that shade into 5VR and 6RR (mixed equal parts) + 10 volume.
Step 3: Process for 35 minutes and rinse.
"She looked like a completely different woman walking out of the salon!"
