While you are posting all of your beautiful work on Instagram and Facebook, and using the hashtag #ModernSalon to catch our editors' eyes, you can also be using another hashtag for a chance to win major prizes.

Keratin Complex launched their Unmask a Hero campaign March 1, and it's continuing througout the year. Stylists are invited to share their best, most creative work on Facebook and Instagram, using the hashtag #unmaskahero.

To enter, follow the following guidelines:

  • Stylists can share their best color, styling, or smoothing looks on Instagram and Facebook using #unmaskahero beginning March 1. Submissions will also be accepted via email at [email protected]
  • All products used to create the look must be Keratin Complex. All entries must include a full list of products used, including color, styling and smoothing products.
  • Photo submissions must include front, back, and side headshots.
  • Photos must be taken on a white background.
  • To be considered for a first-place prize, photos must be shot at 300 dpi or higher and entrants must live in the United States.
  • Entries become the sole property of Keratin Complex and may be featured on Keratin Complex digital platforms, including Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, Pinterest, and www.keratincomplex.com.

Judges will select winners based on creativity, technique and overall impact in the areas of styling, smoothing and color.

“Our stylists amaze us every day and we want to help showcase and share their talents with the world," says Mario Argenti, President, Keratin Complex. "Keratin Complex is deeply committed to supporting our salons and stylists and our Unmask a Hero campaign is a platform for emerging, talented artists to share their work to large, industry-wide audience."

Each quarter of the year, one grand-prize winner, one second-place winner and 10 runners up will be selected to win a variety of prizes. That means almost 50 stylists will have the chance to win SOMETHING in all. Prizes include a fully paid trip to New York City to assist at an editorial photo shoot, features in leading trade publications including MODERN SALON, cash prizes, swag bags of Keratin Complex product and more.

How To Winterize a Summer Blonde: Babylights with Reverse Balayage using Redken pH Bonder

Alison Alhamed and Jamie Newman | November 29, 2016

Our summer blonde made the perfect model to demonstrate the beauty of Redken’s new pH Bonder because although she isn’t frequently coloring her hair, living in New York City means she’s walking outside a lot with exposure to the sun and city elements—plus thermal damage from regular use of a curling wand or flatiron. So with protection and hair health being the two key benefits of the additive, she was all in.

Maggie Mulhern | December 5, 2016

Sydney Julian (@sydneyjulianhair) of Design 1 Salon and Spa, Grand Rapids, Michigan, says her client, a college student, had been growing her air for years and needed and wanted a change. The hair was cut (12 inches) and donated to Wigs For Kids. After some layering, face framing and texturizing, Julian got busy with color. Formula here.
