Dermalogica has just announced a new opportunity for salon industry professionals to boost their business skills and take their salon business to the next level. The Dermalogica FITE Entrepreneurial Scholarship will cover full tuition for the Dermalogica Entrepreneurship Training Program with Santa Monica College, a six-week online course that will run from March 6 – April 14, 2017. Classes will cover business and marketing skills for the salon professional, specifically focusing on:

  • Entrepreneurship principles
  • Financing
  • Salon operations and accounting
  • Marketing & Communications
  • Management Styles

The Entrepreneurship Training Program harnesses the power of professional skin care and education companies – Dermalogica and The International Dermal Institute – to provide support for women in the salon industry.

The Professional Beauty Industry’s economic report shows that the U.S. salon and spa industry has registered steady growth over the last decade, and outperformed the overall economy in 11 of the last 14 years. As an industry comprised of 85% women, 31% who are self-employed, and with 61% of all salon businesses owned by women, Dermalogica sees an enormous opportunity to empower women economically by creating industry-specific business skills curriculum.
