Good morning! I'm here in Las Vegas at the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino with more than 600 hairdressers for Oribe's two-day hair extravaganza, Backstage! I'm so excited for the day's events to begin. On the agenda? An owner's exchange where, all day, owners and managers will be presented with valuable information to help them with retail, front desk coordination, setting benchmarks for business and more success tips. Our own Salon Today Editor Stacey Soble will also be presenting! I'll be sure to take lots of notes to share.
Yesterday and today there's the Rehab Pool Party going on that is CRAZYYYY... everyone out in their bikinis dancing by the pool--though it's not really my scene, I def have to stop by today because Cee Lo Green will be performing! AWESOME! Love him.
Yesterday, during registration, we received the cutest coin purses with Oribe on them! Featuring his signature full-sleeve tattoos and slicked back hair! They're so cute, check them out below. Also, while registering, I got the change to meet some of the people who will be presenting today. Frances Cole Jones, author of How to Wow and The Wow Factor, will be discussing front desk--how to make it work like a well-oiled machine to increase client satisfaction and boost salon revenues. Also, I met Marc Harris, CEO of SalonWeek.com, a concept similar to Restaurant Week where salons can opt to offer their services at half-off regular prices. During the week, each participating salon will offer a minimum of three services. Clients will be able to get cuts, blow-outs, color, etc. at a lower price point to help increase new clientele and client retention. I'm interested to hear more about this concept!
Last night, there was a HUGE party at Luxor's LAX club. The music was so great, everyone was dancing and talking about how excited they are for tonight's big show at The Joint Theater. Attendees who came to Backstage last year said it was such an inspirational event that they couldn't miss the oportunity to come again. I'm VERY excited to see it all come together!
