Nutrition for Your Hair

You may eat right and exercise daily, but just how healthy is your hair?  I tried out Hairtrition SULFATE -  FREE Color Protect Shampoo and Color Protect Conditioner for a time-span of two weeks to find out its real effects.

When I first saw the bottles of Hairtrition SULFATE - FREE Color Protect Shampoo and Color Protect Conditioner, I mistakenly thought it was food.  The reason why was because on the front of the two bottles the ‘Nutrition Facts’ were clearly labeled.  That’s why I was under the impression it was something you could eat.

But it’s not. It’s shampoo and conditioner!

On the labels of both products, it lists a blend of ingredients: silk amino acids, raspberry extract, flaxseed oil, moringa protein, soybean extract and vitamins B5, C and E.  Both products also have coconut oil, sunflower seed extract and UV protectants.  Sounds pretty nutritious for your hair...

The first time I was lathering the products through my hair in the shower, I instantly felt like I was somewhere in a tropical paradise.  The coconut oil in the shampoo and conditioner smelled really fruity while I was washing my hair - and for hours later.  The conditioner also works well – I found it worked a little better if you let it sit on your hair for at least 30 seconds before washing it out.

Since I have layered hair, which I regularly blow-dry and flat iron almost every day, the tips get pretty damaged after awhile.  It usually takes a good conditioner to repair my split ends and keep my hair properly hydrated.  Also, it takes a good conditioner to be able to nourish my hair enough so that I am not struggling to pull a comb or brush through.

After the first use, the shampoo and conditioner left my hair with a nice coconut scent, soft and with a good shine.  Right after using the shampoo for a little more than a week did I really see how it was helping my hair.  At this point now (2 weeks later) it feels stronger, softer, and it has retained my current color.  So it works well!

I recommend this product to hairdressers/salon owners who are possibly looking for a new Spring line of shampoo and conditioner.  I think this product will make your clients relax; and even if it’s just for a few minutes feel like they are on a vacation in the Bahamas….and who doesn’t want that?

Until next time,

Lauren
