NAIL HOW TO: Peek-a-Boo Red NailLearn how to create this peek-a-boo red nail with silver stripes, black boxes and yep, you guessed it, a slight shade of red hidden in-between.

CND SUPPLIES: Shellac Base Coat; Shellac Colors: Cream Puff and Fedora; Additives: Bright Red Pigment; Shellac Top Coat and CND UV Lamp.

ART SUPPLIES: 99 percent Isopropyl Alcohol, Striping Tape, Detail Brush

TRY IT:

Step 1: Prep the natural nail.

Step 2: Apply a thin layer of Shallac Base Coat and cure for 10 seconds in the CND UV Lamp.

Step 3: Apply a thin layer of Shellac Cream Puff and cure for two minutes.

Step 4: Use striping tape to block off the design by placing three vertical stripes equally spaced down the nail. Then apply stripes from the left side to the center on a slight diagonal, and repeat from the right side to the center. The left and right should meet in a point at the center.

Step 5: Apply a thin layer of Shellac Fedora over the entire nail leaving one square empty. cure for two minutes.

Step 6: Dip the tip of a Gel oval brush into Bright Red Pigment and brush on to the white square. Remove striping tape. Use a detail brush moistened with 99% Isopropyl Alcohol to clean up stripes if needed.

Step 7: Apply a thin layer of Shellac Top Coat and cure for two minutes.

Step 8: Wipe with 99% Isopropyl Alcohol to remove top film.
