Soft curls, waves, bends and buckles – a beautiful combination of texture and movement come together to create the Oh Plaid Collection, the most recent work of Eric Fisher Salons and Aquage.

This collection epitomizes the beauty of multiple textures. The wide range of styling techniques used in the Oh Plaid Collection provide a modern texture while projecting an alternative, fashion forward edginess.

“The key influence comes from the west coast of America,” explains Trish Dool, Creative Director of the Eric Fisher Salons. “Seeing the natural curls mixed with 70’s and 80’s-era textures on the beauties of the west coast is essentially what inspired the entire collection.”

Great significance was placed on the preparation of the hair and the approach in which the styling tools were used.

PREP:

The hair was primed using Biomega shampoos and conditioners and blown dry with a round brush or a diffuser. Once dry, the hair was spritzed at the root with Aquage “Working Spray” and from mid-shaft to ends with Aquage “Beyond Body Thermal Spray.” Beginning at the nape, 2-inch sections were curled and arranged to create a textured effect. The hair was curled using four different techniques:

1. Mid-shaft to ends, keeping the roots straight.

2. Roots to mid-shaft, leaving the ends untouched.

3. Pin curling and setting with a flatiron.

4. Holding the flat iron at a 45-degree angle.

To polish off this modern collection of movement and definition, the looks were finished using a jumbo comb or the fingers. Aquage “Beyond Shine” was applied to the hair for ultimate shine, and Aquage “Finishing Spray” was used to give the hair a firm but workable hold.
