Mario Tricoci, globally recognized
as a visionary of beauty
and style, launched his American
hair styling career in 1960, after
participating in numerous national
and international competitions. He
now operates 19 salons and spas throughout the
Chicagoland and Kansas areas. Tricoci and his
work have been featured in leading beauty publications
as well as on Oprah, Jenny Jones, Chicago
network news and radio. MODERN asked
this beauty authority what inspires him:
Evening hair: Forget about slick and flat and think of
a non-traditional updo with mini chignons all over or
hair with several large, loose braids or twists with hair
escaping from them.
Teenagers: Young people have a certain foresight and
there’s a lot we can learn from them. For example, how
can we take inspiration from a young person and
create something for an adult? Remain a student of
people—that’s what I tell our team.
Match Root Amplifier: It adds
movement and body to hair and
creates very natural-looking
volume. I love using root amplifier
for creating city looks for day or
night.
