The American Heart Association has declared February as Heart Month, and in support, Joico has created a special red version of its K-PAK ReconstRx VaporIron. In addition to raising awareness for this important issue with the iron, the company has pledged a donation of $12,500 to the American Heart Association.
According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, heart disease is the leading cause of death in the United States, so awareness and prevention are critical. That’s why, under the Joico Cares umbrella, the hair care company has targeted Heart Month in February. 'Give from the Heart' joins other Joico Cares initiatives—including the Beauty for a Cure Breast Cancer Awareness program—to reach out to stylists and salon clients and to raise funds.
“Many Joico salons used Beauty for a Cure as a launchpad for their own local programs,” comments Joico Senior Vice President and General Manager Sara Jones, “and raised substantial amounts of money for breast cancer-related organizations nationwide. We want to build on the success of this program with the ReconstRx VaporIron and 'Give from the Heart' giving salons more opportunities to give back, encouraging stylists to create heart-themed fundraising and awareness programs in their communities.”
