Solano's "Show Your Power Behind The Chair Contest"

Entries are now being accepted for the Solano “Show Your POWER Behind the Chair” contest with one talented hair stylist and cosmetology student scoring a trip to New York City and an opportunity of a lifetime: to assist a celebrity hair stylist backstage at a New York Fashion Week show.

“Solano prides itself on being a brand at the forefront of styling innovation and supporting the careers of stylists through educational opportunities,” said Leron McKendrick, Senior Brand Manager for Solano. “New York Fashion Week epitomizes trend setting, so we are thrilled to be able to offer both stylists and cosmetology students the chance to experience all that takes place backstage from a hair styling perspective during New York Fashion Week.”

To be considered, entrants must submit a minimum of one photo capturing usage of a Solano dryer and/or flat iron to create a hair style worthy of the runway as well as at least one photo showing the completed hair style.

One licensed hair stylist and one cosmetology student will be selected as winners, and will be publicly announced by July 29, 2011. Eligible entrants must be licensed professional hair stylists or currently enrolled in a cosmetology school program. Winners will receive a prize package valued at approximately $5,000 including an all-expenses paid trip to New York City, the opportunity to assist a celebrity stylist at a to-be-determined New York Fashion Week fashion show and a Solano styling tool kit.
