HOW TO: Vintage-Inspired Formal UpdoMODERN Facebook fan Michelle Luna, of Luna Del Mar Salon in Del Mar, California, created this beautiful updo and was too timid to send it in for potential publication. In fact, one of her friends sent it to us! We absolutely love this look and knew our readers would too. Let this serve as a reminder: WE WANT TO SEE YOUR WORK! Never be too shy to show it off! Send your best stuff to MODERN's Alison Shipley, ashipley@vancepublishing.com, for the shot at getting published!

For this look, Luna was going for a vintage-glamour side-swept updo. "I achieved this look by using all Schwarzkopf Professional OSiS styling products," she says. "I blow dried the hair with Body Me for volume, curled it with a large barreled iron, applied Dust It root-lifting powder to roots, teased the crown and made a deep side part."

Next, she sectioned out the shorter layers around the face, smoothed the rest of hair (without losing volume) and swept the hair into a low side ponytail. Then, she secured it with an elastic.

Next, roll large sections of the ponytail and pin into place making sure the ends are concealed.

To finish, sweep the front section into the look and secure with pins.

Complete by using Schwarzkopf Professional OSiS Freeze strong-hold hairspray and a light misting of Osis Sparkler shine spray.HOW TO: Vintage-Inspired Formal UpdoHOW TO: Vintage-Inspired Formal Updo
