It's officially October. Do YOU know what you're being for Halloween this year?

Whether you're scheming your own costume or stocking up on ideas for clients scrambling last-minute, Pureology Artist Ruth Roche has a couple crowd-pleasing solutions.

Go more low-key with the smoothed hair and signature headband of Flo the Progressive Insurance girl, or embrace '50s flare with Lucille Ball of I Love Lucy. Hair how-tos below!

Pro tip: Best on shoulder-length hair (or style a wig in the same manner).

STEP 1: Apply Pureology Colour Stylist Root Lift spray mousse throughout damp hair. Blowdry using a round brush.

STEP 2: Create a deep side-part and back-comb at the root area of the crown to create volume.

STEP 3: Smooth hair up and over the crown using the side of the brush. Brush the front over to one side.

STEP 4: Place a blue headband just in front of the crown. Finish with Pureology Colour Stylist Supreme Control high-hold hairspray for intense shine and hold.

Finish with groomed brows, red lips and some very winged liner (and, of course, the white Progressive apron and nametag).

STEP 1: Apply Pureology Pure Volume Instant Levitation Mist on damp hair. Blowdry with a paddle brush for a smooth finish.

STEP 2: Brush hair up to the crown and create a ponytail. Smooth sides back with the side of the brush and spray Colour Stylist Strengthening Control zero-dulling hairspray.

STEP 3: Use a 1/2-inch curling iron or small rollers to set all of the hair in the ponytail in small sections.

STEP 4: Once set cools, break up using fingers and pull curls forward. Secure using bobby pins.

STEP 5: Finish with Colour Stylist Strengthening Control zero-dulling hairspray for strong hold.

Round out the '50s-housewife look with picture-perfect makeup and a patterned shirt dress. Chocolates optional but encouraged.
