Clients want what they see on celebrities, and attendees at joint Empire Education Group/Nick Arrojo MOB (Master of Beauty) Tour of Beauty presentations learn how to deliver the latest styles with confidence. Kicking off the eight-city tour in NYC, Arrojo demonstrated The Asymmetric with a Jessica Bielinspired Inverted-V color, the "swing" layer cut with X-Pattern color (for a top spotlight effect a la Kelly Clarkson) and the "sqround" with partial shading that peeks though interior layers. The focus: consumer driven and immediately usable.

The Celebrity Effect
Nick Arrojo demonstrates how layers can bring color to life.

Explains Arrojo, "After the consultation, you may realize a certain color tone, highlight or lowlight, will be a great fit for your client. The trick is to convince her. Do this with celebrities. Maybe a pop or film star is wearing a similar look; show a magazine photo to the client. Then, talk about how you'll tailor it to her." Jointly developed MOB classes that lead to Master of Beauty Skills Certifications in four different areas are being hosted on Empire campuses across the country.
