Webb prepped damp hair with Milk_shake Shaping Foam. Once dry, she added a dime-sized amount of Freehand Paste to the midshaft and ends to remove frizz. She started two pull through braids in pigtails, pulling out and pancaking each for fullness. At the end of each braid, Webb created a messy bun using Texturizing Spritz. Finish with Medium Hairspray.

Our five finalists were sent a Challenge Box with styling products from Milk_shake’s Lifestyling line of stylers. They were tasked with using at least two of the products to create their final best-in-boho submission. 

Once submitted, voting was opened to the public, with MODERN editors and Making Waves Artist Connective judges Trae Howard @traehowardhair, Amy Baugh @hairbyamybee, Marissa Sue Madsen @hairbymarissasue, Megan Moran @megahairmaniac, and Frances Canola @frances_hairartist weighing in.

Along with major bragging rights, this group of 5 finalists will receive incredible prizes, including a gift box packed with goodies (it’s seriously PACKED) from some of our favorites— Alfparf, Alterna, ColorTrak, Goldwell and Product Club. 

Ultimately, Shelby Weatherholtz was named the 2019 Making Waves winner!
