Kyle Hugo Domenech (@hairbykylehugo) of DiRosa Haircare in Franklin Square, NY (@dirosahaircare) had an interesting challenge. "A few months back I met my new guest Julie on the streets of New York City," says Domenech. "I was instantly drawn to her and welcomed the opportunity to do her hair. As I approached her I immediately knew what I wanted to do. After waiting three months for an appointment with me, she entered the salon feeling nervous and excited. After an in depth consultation we came up with our game plan. Our main goal was to eliminate the unwanted brassy tones that she had from previously coloring her own hair with box color. We always wanted to increase the integrity of her hair and bring it back to life. Julie's skin type is very fair and I wanted to brighten her color up in order to bring out her natural eye color. The end result was stunning and Julie left feeling happy and confident with her new look."
According to Domenech, "That's what I love to do - making people feel good and walk with confidence when they leave my chair. It's funny how things work out in life. When I was younger I wasn't really sure what I wanted to do with my life. I didn't exactly have a plan. No long term goals to set up a good future for myself. I never thought I would be doing hair, I mean my mom, my aunt even my grandparents are and were in the business , But I didn't think it was for me untill I got into beauty school and it hit me that this is what I want to do. From there on working in a salon, to taking classes for further education, interning on Broadway, entering color competitions, doing photoshoots and traveling. there's so much this field has to offer! Here I am now, doing something that I enjoy to do, and I'm good at it. But what I love and learned about this business is that our canvas is always changing so the possibilities are endless ..... and that is the true gift of being in this industry." Well said Kyle!!!!
