“Shooting hair is different than shooting fashion in the way that the hair is the story of the shoot and all elements have to complement it,” says Babak, professional fashion, beauty and hair photographer. “I think the most important thing about a photographer is his or her aesthetics. It’s important because the photographer is the one that has to bring the hairdresser’s idea to life on a photograph, get the message across and tell a story in an artistic way. Hairdressers need to connect with the photographer and the photographer has to be able to envision the hairdresser’s three dimensional hair idea and make sure it fits into a two dimensional photograph. Icons are made by great photos and photographers.”
