Alexis Cruz (@hairbylexy92) of Salon Blue, Hacienda Heights, CA says this client tried 3 times to get an ashy silver blonde with her previous stylist, "but she always left the salon unhappy. After getting frustrated she decided to dye her hair with a box color and got an orange toned light brown." This was not at all what she wanted. According to Cruz, "She found my work on Instagram and decided to give it one more shot. I'm glad I was able to achieve the color and she left completely happy!"
Here Cruz shares the HOW TO:
Step 1: Apply Matrix Light Master lightener with 30 volume from root too mid shaft. Cover the hair with a cap and place under heat for 45 minutes.
Step 2: While processing, apply the same lightener with 20 volume from mid shaft to end for an additional 30 minutes. Rinse.
Step 3: Apply 12/10 Wella Ash with 20 volume to lift out unwanted tones. Rinse.
Step 4: Apply Rusk 9aa with Demi solution to get the silver tone. Blend with blue shampoo and process for 10 minutes.
