Miguel Gato (@migueldoeshair), based in Miami, Florida, had a fun challenge with this correction. "About four months ago, this client decided to lighten her ends and color them green! What you see in the photo is her natural base color with a demi permanent green dye she purchased at her local drug store. After coloring/cutting and experimenting on her own hair, she decided to get her hair professionally colored. Her goal is to achieve a light balayage effect."
Gato began by cutting 4 inches from her length. "At this point, most of the green was gone except for a few strands," he says. "The rest was her natural hair color."
Here Gato shares the HOW TO for this 3 hour correction:
Step 1: Balayage using Redken Flash Lift lightener with Olaplex and 30 volume. "I used foils to separate the lightened hair from the strands that were left green."
Step 2: Apply Pravana 6CR zero lift on the green strands. "Most of the green was neutralized". Once the hair was lightened, rinse.
Step 3: Tone with Pravana 8GA zero lift.
Step 4: Finish with Olaplex part 2.
