COLOR CORRECTION: Uneven To Bombshell Blonde

Alisha Jared (@alishajaredhairartistry) from Siren Salon in Vancouver, WA, was thrilled with the opportunity presented by this client. "She has had several attempts at platinum, both professionally and non-professionally.  There were several colors throughout her hair ranging from very gold to perfectly platinum so I knew I would need to be very cautious of overlapping to preserve the integrity of her hair.  She also had 2" of new growth to consider, as well."

This was a 5 hour service and Jared charged $175.

Here Jared shares the HOW TO:

Formula A: Joico Cream Lightener + 20 volume Veroxide

Formula B: Wella Blondor + 10 volume Veroxide

Formula C: Joico Chrome V9 + Joico Chrome A9 3:1 ratio + Joico Chrome Activator

Step 1: Section hair into 4 sections.  Starting at nape. Work upward taking 1/2" sub-sections and pick out pieces that need to be lifted lighter.  Place on Embee Meche.  Apply Formula A to new growth staying 1/2" from scalp.  Apply Formula B through the ends. Continue this through all 4 sections making sure not to overlap lightener onto any hair that is already platinum.

Step 2:  Mix new batch of Formula A. Immediately return to nape section and working upward apply Formula A to scalp, removing Embee Meche from hair as you go. Place cap on client and process to level 9/10 very pale yellow.

Step 3: Thoroughly shampoo lightener from hair using Pureology Strength Cure Shampoo and condition with Joico Moisture Recovery Conditioner.

Step 4:  Apply Formula C from scalp to mid lengths of hair.  Let process until you are almost at desired tone. Saturate ends of hair with remaining Formula C and let process until hair reaches desired tone.

Step 5: Apply Joico Kpak Intense Hydrator.  Process 5-7 minutes.

TO FINISH: "We cut 3" off, added subtle layers and styled with a Sam Villa Blow Dryer, Kenra Blow Dry Spray, 32mm NuMe wand, Kenra Dry Texture Spray and Kenra Volume 25 spray."

NOTE FROM JARED: "Platinum blonde is such a gorgeous hair trend and I don't think it is going anywhere for a while.  I was so intimidated by the clients who wanted 'icy white' when I was starting out.  I have since thrown myself completely into learning what works and what doesn't and have built a majority of my clientele off of this service.  I absolutely love blonding!"
