Nikki Mears (@HairessMears) is a military wife and Unicorn Tribe Member living on the beautiful island of Yigo-Guam, working as a salon suite owner/Independent Stylist at HAIRESS MEARS. She posted this "I Want To BE Blonde" pix on her IG feed and we had to know more!
"This client came in with 3-6 inches of Level 1 grown-out haircolor that was previously prelightend to a Level 10 with heat and no toner," says Mears. "She left with breakage and rubbery hair. After waiting a few months, she wanted to be a natural-looking blonde again. She wanted to hide her black roots and take into consideration her previously damaged hair."
Challenge accepted:
Step 1: Section hair into four quadrants - thin paneling and micro-weaving through the head (roots only) with Redken Upto7 and 30 vol and two ribbons of highlight ASH.
Step 2: Process for 45 minutes. Olaplex Bond Strengthening Service on damp hair (ends only) 20 minutes. Wash with Fanola No Yellow-Roots only 15minutes. Dry (low heat).
Step 3: Apply Fanola 9.11/20 up to 1.5 inch off scalp, then Fanola 12.2\20 to upper mid shaft (blend) and then Fanola 12.7/10 to mids and ends.
Step 4: Color melt the haircolor together and process for 35 minutes. Rinse, dilute Fanola NoYellow Shampoo with Pravana Reparative Shampoo for 10 minutes.
Step 5: Cut one-inch off the perimeter and layer the hair. Blow dry wrapped and curled with Bio Ionic StyleWinder and set.
