Post Treatment: Defy Damage ProSeries 2: Bond-Strengthening Color Treatment
Steps
Step 1: Prep with Defy Damage ProSeries 1. Shake the can vigorously and then spray in short bursts to 2-inch sections and comb for even distribution. Tip: When working on short hair, use a fine-tooth comb to spray and comb ProSeries 1 at the same time for even saturation.
Step 2: Section the hair into six sections. Using the crown as a guide point; create three triangular sections in the front half of the head. Create an upside-down triangle from the crown in the back that goes to the parietal ridge. This will leave two bottom side sections in the back.
Step 3: Starting in the back, take back-to-back fine slices on the two side bottom sections and apply Formula 1 omitting the root. Tip: Starting in the back allows you the ability to rinse the hair if needed when doing a double process blonde service.

Step 4: Continue the same process in the back-top triangle section. Continue to take fine partings and apply the Formula 1 omitting the regrowth.
Step 5: The finer the slice, the more accurate the lift. When doing a double process blonde, it is important to not take such thick sections for accuracy in application and saturation. Great tip is you should be able to read a newspaper through your section to know if it is fine enough.
Step 6: Starting in the front side section, continue your application in the same manner. Take horizontal slice partings and apply Formula 1. Move your developer level up if you see the back is processing faster. This will all be based on hair type, texture, density, porosity and hair history.
Step 7: As you continue to work up the front sides, your partings will continue to get wider. Adjust your foils for this wider area or split into two foils if needed.
Step 8: Working in the last top mohawk section, start in the front and take horizontal slices. Apply Formula 1. Process the entire application until you reach a level 10 pale yellow. Rinse and shampoo with Blonde Life Brightening Shampoo and Conditioner. Dry the hair completely and continue to the next step.

Step 9: Section the head into four equal quadrants. Apply Formula 2 to the regrowth area only. Be careful to not overlap into the previously lightened blonde.
Step 10: After applying Formula 2 throughout the entire regrowth, process until a level 10 palest yellow is achieved. Rinse and shampoo with Blonde Life Violet Shampoo. Towel dry the hair to remove any excess water. Starting at the regrowth, at the shampoo bowl, apply the toner formula. Process for about 1-2 minutes. Then, apply the toner formula throughout the rest of the hair. Pay attention to the processing checking every 30 seconds. Rinse and shampoo after the toner. Restrengthen and rebuild the bonds of the hair with Defy Damage ProSeries 2 for 5 minutes at the bowl. Rinse and dry the hair. Style as desired.
