Frank Rizzieri breaks down the look at Milly, and introduces the new RSession Pro Tools and Aveda book.
Although it was 20 minutes before show time for the Milly fall/winter 2013 collection at Mercedes Benz Fashion Week, lead hairdesigners Kevin Ryan and Frank Rizzieri were taking everything in stride. Most models were done and Frank offered to break down the look for Modern.
"I know it's a ponytail," he admitted, "but it's a 'special' ponytail. And these are not always as easy as you would think...especially when there has to be uniformity. There has to be a plan when all the models have to have the same look."
According to Frank, it's all about the texture. After running Aveda Phemollient through the hair and hand drying, Frank adds Pure Abundance powder. "You really need the grip," he says.
For Frank it's all about the products...and especially the tools, used to create looks. After demo-ing how he uses medical forcepts to create editorial finishes, frank walked us through the latest RSession Pro Tools designed by Kevin and Frank specifically to create unusual and interesting textures and finishes. The tools are exceptional.
As long as Frank was giving us so much time, we decided to dive in to the book that will be found in the kits for most Aveda students. "We show how to do the most mainstream of looks that can make or break a stylist. We break down blowing out curly hair, creating an editorial finish, and yes...making a perfect ponytail."
