February 11 brought together hundreds of stylists at City Winery for Texture on the Runway, a showcase of curls, kinks and waves, presented by TextureMedia, live during New York's Fashion Week. Runway sponsors and headliners were cheered on and given standing-room only attendance by hundreds of CosmoProf stylists and curlies.
Minardi Luxury Color Care and Joico put together a fantastic creative team of Mark Mileti, color director; Stephen Wang, design director; John James Lichioveri, senior designer, and Sony Hy, design assistant, in an exciting runway presentation that featured tousled texture, combined with beautiful cuts and striking fashion.
“We’re really excited that color is taking a bold step forward, so we’re introducing bold, bright colors,” said Color Director Mark Mileti.
“My favorite right now is icy blue, double process blondes. It’s time our blondes started getting glamorous again!” he said.
To achieve the color seen in the video below, Mileti use Joico Crème Lightener, and a combination of two toners to achieve the idea blonde: Crystal Clear toner with a “miniscule” amount of blue additive to create an icy look.
“We we’re very inspired by all of the Marilyn madness that’s trending now,” Mileti says.
“I love the fact that texture is more prevalent. For too long we’ve been dealing with smooth, sleek hair, but I love that were able to introduce some bold texture and bouncy curls!”
