Nick Irwin (for TIGI) had a challenge for the Alon Livine show, presented last night during Mercedes Benz Fashion Week. "Alon is quite famous in Israel where he is based," said Irwin, "but not so much here. We wanted to make a big impact, so really went for it."
Because the collection is quite futuristic, Irwin wanted to make them look alien-like "as if they are from the future. I wanted each to look the same, so went with braids." Each braid, in five sections, took about 90 minutes to create.
Are braids still hot? "Braids are always great for spring and summer," says Nick. "We're doing it slightly different this season. Braids are perfect for spring and summer. These are quite tight and knotted at the nape, perfect for this collection."
