While Aveda Rituals of Renewal allow stylists to connect with guests in a meaningful way through the power of touch, breath and aroma, these rituals also can be directed toward stylist self-care. Each of the five core rituals can provide a stylist with moments of wellbeing using Aveda’s high-touch approach.
To perform the Stress Relieving Hand Ritual in a way that helps to revive and relax your hands between client appointments, follow these steps:
Invite another team member to sit down, and apply a small amount of the Aveda Stress Fix Lotion to her hand. Stabilize her elbow for comfort.
Breathe deeply and experience the product aroma.
Interlock your fingers with your coworker’s fingers.
Rotate the team member’s wrist three times in one direction and three times in the other direction.
Position your co-worker’s hand palm up.
Starting at the wrist and moving toward the fingers, massage using a thumb-over-thumb motion, moving in between each finger three times.
Starting at the wrist and moving up toward the thumb, use your thumb to massage the entire palm of your coworker’s hand. Form large circular motions that become smaller. Continue across the base of the fingers toward the little finger and down the side of the hand.
Complete the circular motions at the center of the palm.
