Jennifer LoPiccolo (@ jennifer_lopiccolo_) of Union Salon, Pasadena, California, says her very blonde client never really changed up her color much. "Just lighten and tone," says LoPiccolo. "She's a natural level 5. I talked to her about something new and my idea for her...which was the shadowy blue root." Once convinced, LoPiccolo got busy.
Step 1: Lighten the regrowth using Wella Blondor with 20 volume. Lift to desired level. Rinse.
Step 2: Tone with Redken Shades 9b. Process for 20 minutes. Rinse and dry.
Step 3: Apply Wella Instamatic "Ocean Storm" to the root area. Comb out to soften the line and give a shadowy affect. Process for 25 minutes then rinse and condition.
