Saturday, October 3, 2015: Goldwell's Global Zoom Challenge (formerly Color Zoom) 2015 kicked off today in Las Vegas, Nevada. 2,400 salon pros, family and friends have decended on the city to cheer on the competitors in the three categories of New Talent (less than 5 years of experience), Creative Colorist (more than 5 years) and Partner (artists already working with Goldwell as educators or platform artists).
MODERN is covering the event and Beauty and Fashion Director Maggie Mulhern is one of the judges. Today the "jury" met to go over the 72 finalist photos representing 30 countries and 5 continents. Sunday, October 4, is the grand competition where the finalists recreate the look on their model in front of a live audience. The competitors have just 3 hours to cut, color, apply make up and dress their model in hopes of going home with the gold.
While the competition is the key ingredient in this 3 day event, education (through artist sessions), networking and fun play a vital role in Global Zoom. There is much to be had.
Day one ended with all of the North American guests and competitors meeting and greeting at the Light Nightclub in the Mandalay Bay hotel.
