Q: How do I keep fashion colors from fading?
A: "Preparing the hair for color helps tremendously with preventing fade," says Lupe Voss, Aveda Global Hair Color Team Member and Guest Artist. "When trying to achieve fashion colors such as bright red, blue and green, first, prelighten the hair with Aveda Enlightener to create a light base. Then, remove the Aveda Enlightener from hair by shampooing three times with hot water. Next, perform an Aveda Botanical Therapy Treatment for 5 minutes. It combines the power of touch with aroma-therapeutic essential oils to create a healthy scalp - the foundation for beautiful hair."
