Beautiful finger waves created by Najah Aziz. Learn the steps to create perfect finger waves every time in this tutorial.

MODERN Facebook fan Najah Aziz, owner and stylist at Like the River The Salon in Atlanta, Georgia, created these incredible finger waves and posted this image on our Facebook wall--once we saw it, we KNEW we had to track down the how to.
To begin, shampoo the hair and mold it flat in a wave framing the face with a foam product on the client's head.
Then place under the dryer for 25-30 min until dry. A light oil (grapeseed oil) is applied all over the hair and massaged in. The hair is then curled very tight (like a roller set) on base with a flatiron.
After the complete head is curled, more oil is applied to allow the hair to glide smoothly as the waving process starts.
The hair is waved in C shapes back and forth, smoothing the hair with a comb until the wave is created. The hair is then sprayed with a spritz.

How To Create Power Finger-Waves
The hair is shampooed and molded flat in a wave framing the face with a foam product on clients head. She was then placed under dryer for 25-30min until dry. A light oil (grapeseed oil) is applied all over the hair massaging it in. The hair is then curled very tight (like a roller set) on base with a flat iron at 400 degrees. After the complete head is curled then more oil is applied to allow the hair to glide smoothly as the waving process starts. The hair is waved in c shapes back and forth, smoothing the hair with a comb until the wave is created. The hair is then sprayed with a spritz. That's it! Waves from Like The River Salon in Atlanta.

The video was from a cutting class at Beauty Beyond The Hair; www.beautybeyondthehair.com in which I facilitate to hairdressers all across the country. We did some editing to narrow it down to just show the wave technique. Hope this works for you. Please let me know if I can provide anything else for you.
