Kylie Nelson(@kdnartistry), based at the JCPenney Salon and Spa in Phoenix, Arizona earned her license in February, but is already using her talents to transform a too gold color design to a lighter and brighter finish.

"I was thrilled when this she gave free range for change after a lifetime of long layers and highlights," she says. "I wanted to give her something she would be comfortable with. This was a huge change, but something she could make work." Nelson used the existing highlights to add dimension. Here she offers the HOW TO:

Step 1: Apply Wella Blondor with 10 volume Pastel Developer from off root to end.

Step 2: Process for 30 minutes at room temperature.

Step 3: Tone with Wella Illumina Color 10/38 and 10/ with equal parts processing lotion.
