In its sixth outing, MODERN SALON Boot Camp, a fast-paced and information-packed day of education for beauty professionals, returns to Texas, with a June 10 date.
This traveling event launched in Los Angeles, then moved to Florida (Tampa, Miami), took in Texas (Fort Worth), returned in October 2023 to Los Angeles, and now brings the Boot Camp experience back to Texas, in Dallas.
While originally conceived as an event for independents, each event has included a mix of professionals, and so the content became more and more inclusive, and speaks to anyone. Topics covered in Boot Camp focus on today’s beauty landscape, and speak to independents, commission-stylists, and artists working in hybrid or mobile environments. If you’re a licensed beauty professional, if you work on clients, and if you want to know how to find more success and satisfaction in your career, then Boot Camp is made for you.
During the day in Dallas, we’ll be hearing from Michelle Wheatley who is the founder of the Beauty Business Guide. Wheatley, a Boot Camp veteran, has a common-sense approach to budgeting and goal setting, as seen through the lens of a beauty pro. She understands the life of a stylist (or barber or nail technician) and she knows that one-size-does-not-fit-all.
“Everyone needs to have a personal budget perspective and they need to understand their goals,” Wheatley says. “But many people get very anxious when it comes to understanding how to approach this, so I love breaking down the pieces of the puzzle to show that how it can all fit together.”
Also joining us at Boot Camp will be reality-television star, salon owner, and educator, Whitney Kilpatrick, who long before becoming a featured contestant on Hairstyle The Talent Show has been helping beauty professionals get out of their way, and get into a mindset that supports their success.
“In my time in the industry, I have watched our business change so much, and we have to continue to evolve and really pivot to keep up with the times,” Kilpatrick shares.
Her Beauty Business Revolution presentation will take on three main pillars: Social Media and Education, Guest Experience, and Mindset.
Other topics to be covered on June 10 will include Healthy Boundaries, Branding, and Best Business Decisions, and so much MORE!
Education + Inspiration + Motivation. We have a highly knowledgeable array of speakers lined up for you to learn from. Business coaches, expert educators, and other independent beauty professionals are ready to share with you what they know.
A Chance to Connect! Breaks will be provided throughout the day for you to connect with your fellow beauty pros, our presenters, and event sponsors!
