MAKEOVER: Years Of DIY To Purple/Blue Melt

This client came in with about 5 years of homemade highlights, box color and hair cuts. The goal for this makeover was to turn this client's hair into a variation of blue and purple tones.

Lenna Kelly (@lennakellydoeshair). an educator and a stylist at Ziggys Hair LA, Culver City, CA., says "Color corrections are the most rewarding experience! My client came in with about 5 years of homemade highlights, box color and hair cuts.  We decided our goal would be a variation of blues and purples for her true hair inspiration."

Here she shares the how-to:

Step 1: Apply Wella Soft Blonde cream lightener with 10 volume on the new growth (which was about a level 4.)

Step 2: Once the regrowth has reached a level 8, apply the same lightener with 10 volume with Olaplex to the ends, taking small sections and foiling like a platinum card. Lift to level 9 and then rinse. Treat with Olaplex step 2.

Step 3: Pre-tone the hair (to prep for fashion shades) using Wella ColorTouch. Formula- 10/81 + 10/6 with 6 volume. Process for 25 minutes and shampoo with Fanola. Dry hair completely.

Step 4: Create 4 sections based on the way the client parts hair.
Apply the following, using all Pravana Vivids:
Root: Blue
Accent pieces along the lengths: Neon Blue, Teal and Purple (melted in horizontal sections, all separated with foils)

SHOUT OUT: Thanks to @arty_styles for this awesome braid!
