Matrix announced the May semi-finalists for Matrix Mannequin Mania today. In its second month, more than 4,100 entries flooded the mannequinmania.com website and mail boxes of the Mannequin Mania team. May's 12 semi-finalists in each of the four categories (stylist; salon team; student; and Matrix friends and family) were awarded $1,000 each and their entries have been automatically entered into the finals.
After a panel of judges pick the finalists for each category, America will then be able to choose the ultimate Matrix Mannequin Mania Masters-also winners of $25,000 and a day with the stylist and celebrity judge, Tabatha Coffey. The love of my life, my little beagle. Her name is Lady GaGa. I was looking around the house for some inspiration and she kept barking throwing a fit. I looked at her and said, "Well there ya go" I was surprised to be honest how much it turned out to look like her. This was my favorite entry cause I took the two things I loved the most and put them together. My doggie and hairdressing.

"IT'S ALL HAIR!" I
braided the hat using the top half of the mannequin's hair and fashioned
ribbon and flowers from extensions or colored mannequin hair. This
competition inspired and challenged me to see if I could recreate the
Basket Eave Hat Braid. Guest What? I can, and its bigger and better! The
Mannequin Mania graphics inspired my color selection, but the Discover
Show in St. Louis and of course, the $25,000, sparked my enthusiasm.
Thanks, it was a blast!
