Redken Creative Consultant Guido Palau, a key collaborator in this year’s highly anticipated PUNK: Chaos to Couture exhibit at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in NYC, also helped conceptualize a key component of last night's gala in celebration of the exhibit, to open later this week.

Guido created hairstyles for the 50 "punks" who lined the Met’s grand staircase as guests entered the gala. The 50 individual shapes he created completed each look, setting up the theme of the event with a distinctly punk presentation.

Coming to age in the era of punk in London in the 1970’s, Guido was surrounded by the look. “Punk was everywhere when I was in my teens and it’s always been a source of inspiration for me," he says. "So when I was asked to style the Gala and create the headpieces for the exhibition, it was an era, and a style, that I already felt close to. I’ve always put a little punk in my work… whether it’s an energy, a feeling, or an actual element of the look.”
