Here, Schneider shares the steps:
Step 1: Consultation! "Consultation is one of the most important steps in creating hair magic. It's always important to make sure you and your client understand each other. My client wants to eventually have the 'silvery/lavender color' and, as we know, that usually can't happen in one sitting. So we talked options and decided to go with a deep blue/purple!"
Step 2: Section in quadrants and apply a high balayage, foiling back to back using Joico Creme Lightener and 20 volume. Process for about 25 minutes lifting to a level 8/9 yellow. Remove foils and rinse. Do not tone.
Step 3: Apply fashion color! To the root apply 1vv from Joico Lumishine.
Step 4: Create a custom fashion shade using Pulp Riot Velvet, Iro Velvet and a little bit of Pulp Riot Nightfall. Since her hair was yellow, the blue was more dominant and the purple was more of a soft hue. Mission accomplished!
Step 5: Shampoo with Joico co-wash in cool water. Blow dry using Joico KPAK Restoring Oil and Kenra Blow Dry Spray.
