Redken has announced details for the Ultimate Chromatics Haircolor Contest, offering colorists the opportunity to win a trip to the 2013 Redken Symposium in Las Vegas to showcase their winning haircolor styles at the grand opening event on January 20. The Ultimate Chromatics Haircolor contest provides an opportunity for colorists and stylists to express their creativity, experiment with the new Chromatics hair color and to be recognized among their peers for their technical skills.
The contest includes two categories of entry: Signature Haircolor and Young Talent. The experienced hairdressers entering the "signature haircolor category" are invited to create a show-stopping look using Chromatics Prismatic Permanent Color within the following three categories: Most Brilliant Red, Most Dramatic Makeover or Avant-Garde. One winner will be chosen from each category to attend the 2013 Redken Symposium to recreate and showcase their finishes for the 10,000 salon professionals in attendance.

For the Young Talent category, beauty school students or stylists with less than two years of experience, ages 18-25, are invited to enter a creative hairstyle using Chromatics. Four finalists will travel to the 2013 Redken Symposium to recreate their look during the grand opening event where the audience will choose one winner. The grand prize winner will receive a trip to New York City for a Redken Education Experience including one class at the Redken Exchange.
Interested artists are invited to enter The Ultimate Chromatics Haircolor Contest (on Redken's professional site) from now until September 30th, 2012. Artists are required to submit a before and after image of their models as well as a detailed step-by-step description of their techniques and haircolor formulas. Stylists may enter multiple entries into multiple categories as long as each entry is unique and corresponds to the appropriate category. Those who enter Young Talent are also welcome to enter the other categories.
The Ultimate Chromatics Haircolor contest will be judged by a panel of renowned Redken Artists including Kris Sorbie, NAHA Winner & Redken Education Artistic Director, Leah Freeman, Redken Artist & Chromatics Artistic Advisor, David Stanko, Redken Haircolor Consultant and Tracey Cunningham, Redken Creative Consultant for Color.
