The daytime education portion had an energetic kickoff with Lydia Sarfati, CEO and founder of Repêchage counting the 10 BIG Trends of 2010, giving insight on what turns trends mainstream and what to expect from the beauty industry this year.
The eight additional keynote speakers included: Shiri Sarfati, vice president of Sarkli-Repêchage, who informed guests with creative tips to attract new business and market their salons for the future; Deedee Crossett, founder of the San Francisco Institute of Esthetics and Cosmetology, who spoke about attracting and maintaining the new generation of Millennial Estheticians; Eric Lewine of Belvedere, who outlined the salon of the future; Denise Fuller, editor-in-chief of Les Nouvelles Esthetiques & Spa, who touched on the importance and power of networking; Candice Manacchio of CND, who informed guests of the future of nail care with CND's "Hybrid Nail Color" technology; Dr. Leon Alexander, who gave an interesting perspective on retailing and how customers think; Dr. Randall Feingold, who covered trends in plastic surgery and what women want; and Dzigbordi Dosoo, CEO and founder of Allure Africa Ltd., who covered emerging trends in the African spa market.
The two-day conference concluded with Lydia and Shiri Sarfati, presenting an exclusive preview of Kanshi, a brand of Sarkli-Repêchage, a natural aromatherapy spa line designed to offer a spa ritual and lifestyle experience at an affordable price. Lauren Streeter and Jennifer Matuga educators for Repêchage demonstrated a three part Kanshi spa ritual, a basic aromatherapy facial with hand and foot treatments to guests.
The Congress serves as a yearly reunion for the Repêchage family of salon and spa professionals, filled with two days of networking, fun and education. The event has been a kickoff to the beginning of a successful fourth decade of Repêchage in the skincare industry.
