Ruth Roche, Pureology Colour Ambassador,  is known for her amazing cutting and styling techniques. At a recent Modern Salon Media photo session, Ruth demo-ed how to get internal texture using two of her favorite technique: Polka Dots and Curtains.

"Polka Dots is great on darker colored hair," she says, "it creates space and movement between the pieces." Ruth pulls out vertical sections and then snips away at selected pieces. "It creates motion and allows you to see the texture."

Curtains is one of Ruth's favorite "go-to" texturizing techniques. "This technique allows you take away what's behind the scenes. The hair moves more but does not disturb the surface. When the hair drops over there is texture."

In these videos, Ruth demos each technique.
