International Artistic Educator for Pravana, Alan Papaleo, looks at hair as his canvas, and for this photoshoot, ChromaSilk Vivids was his medium. After creating a very strong shape he accented the look with pops of color to show the softer side of Vivids. “This is a pretty approach to color. The color shouldn’t be the look; the color should be part of the look,” says Papaleo.

“Pastels can take an aggressive coloring technique and soften it. More clients will be open to avant-garde color if it’s done subtly, instead of being so bold and bright. It’s an entry point into more intense color.”
