More than 2,400 salon professionals, friends and family were in Las Vegas cheering on the 72 finalists in the Goldwell Global Zoom 2015 competition on Sunday, October 4, 2015.
30 countries and 5 continents were represented in the competition which offered opportunity in three categories: New Talent (less than 5 years of experience), Creative Colorist (more than 5 years of experience) and Partner (Goldwell educators and platform artists.) The 72 competing were narrowed down from 1,800 entries.
Artists were judged on their interpretation of Goldwell's "Traditional Rebels" collection. In the collection, the concept of harmony/disharmony as well as stunning color combinations and tribal inspiration push the limits of hairstyling to new heights. Looks manifest in three distinct style directions: Elegant Edge, Style Clash and Reinvented Tribal.
The haircolor in Traditional Rebels features monochromatic colors which are disrupted by bands of deeply saturated and heavily pigmented shades, ranging from warm to cool neutrals.
After winning the photo-end of the competition, the artists had to recreate the look in front of a live audience in just three hours. This included cut, color, make up and fashion. It was an amazing day and equally amazing night.
Winners of Goldwell's Global Zoom were announced at the Gala held at the Cosmopolitan Hotel in Las Vegas. They are:
GOLD:
New Talent: Natalie Cara Jones - United Kingdom
