"Get out of your comfort zone," says Thomas Osborn, US Creative Director, TIGI. MODERN met with Osborn today at the TIGI Academy on Broome Street in NYC where he was offering product demos and overviews to the beauty press. "I like to take a product and spray it in my hand. I am looking for texture and weight," he says, "and to see how quickly it dries. I also am checking to see if it is sticky or tacky. There is so much you can learn from testing a product on your palm."

MODERN asked why some very popular products are discontinued. "That is by design," he says. "We want you to force yourself to try other products to keep you from becoming stagnant. It's good for the brand and it's good for the artist."
