When makeup artist and body painter @dehsonae reached out toToni Rose Larson(@colordollzbytoni), Artist/Owner @Hairitage Salon, Carlsbad, California, for a new look, Larson was thrilled. "We change her color often. She's an artist herself and loves bright color and embraces change. We love to collaborate too! She sits in my chair every 5 weeks expecting a new color design, to fit her upcoming projects." Larson points out that she created this look using @Invisitab Hair Extensions and Kenra Color Creatives.
Decolorizing Extensions: Apply Pravana 000 Booster + 20 Volume + Continuum and process for 25 minutes. Rinse, shampoo and condition. Place extensions under dryer to dry. Color the extensions using the following formulas:
Kenra Color Creatives
#1 4 oz Blue
#2 2 oz Teal + 2 oz White
#3 2 oz Yellow
#4 2 oz Pink + 1 oz White
#5 2 oz Violet + 1 oz White
#6 2 oz Orange
Before extension application, color the hair:
STEP 1: Pre-lighten base using Kenra lightner + 20 Volume + Continuum. Process for 30 minutes.
STEP 2: At the shampoo bowl, pull lightener through to decolorize remaining hair. Rinse, shampoo, condition.
STEP 3: Apply Kenra VP Rapid Toner. Process at shampoo bowl for 5 minutes. Rinse with cold water, shampoo, no conditioner and blow dry.
STEP 4: Touch up base applying formula #1 pulling color down 3 inches. Process 30 minutes. Rinse with cold water, shampoo no conditioner, blow dry.
STEP 5: Create a vertical color melt with the prepared extensions, installing in a brick layer method. Starting at clients nape take 1" horizontal partings in a pie shape method and work around the head. Color melt to create and achieve different colors, dimension and pops of color. "Be creative," adds Larson. "Kenra Color Creatives ROCKS!"
