Elizabeth Faye (@beautybyelizabethfaye) thanks her color and styling expertise to mentors Kelly Cardenas & Brandon Holt. Now based at Leather & Bone in St. George, Utah, Faye shares the details for this faded copper to dimensional blonde transformation:
"I have painted her three times over the course of a year with toner appointments in between to keep the brass at bay. She was previously colored and lightened and very orange. This last time I painted her with Guy Tang / Pravana balayage lightener with 60 volume and a cap full of 130 volume & Olaplex. This was followed with a toner of Redken Shades EQ: used 7V at her base, and 8V/9P through middle and 9P/9V on ends."
When asked about the 130 volume (which we thought may have been a typo!) Faye responds:
"Yes 130 volume is correct & amazing. When using clay based it is sort of a great booster. I teach in my workshops how to correctly use it and dilute it. You can dilute to whatever need. It is sort of an additive developer to help get the extra lift. With clay based lighteners you need to get as much lift as possible before it dries out."
