Geysha Tomassone (@hair.by.geysha) of the Mora Salon, Cherry Hill, NJ (@morasalon) gladly met the challenge of taking her 50% gray, level 8 gold client to her desired level 10 platinum.
"My client of about 5 years came in for her appointment with another look in mind then her normal level 8 single process," says Tomassone. "She wanted to be platinum blonde! She just turned 55 and wanted to feel and look young. I was on board completely. Her hair was in decent shape and I knew her hair could handle this process." Tomassone knew a double process was required. "She has a lot of hair and this was a quicker and effective way to be a solid platinum blonde. I actually had to lightened her twice." The gray strands added dimension. "This big transformation took 4 hours from start to finish."
HOW TO:
Step 1: Blend 2oz 40 vol + 2 scoops of lightener with 1/4 of Olaplaex step 1.
Step 2: Apply to the mids and ends, leaving out the natural root out.
Step 3: Process for 20 minutes, then apply on the roots for 15 minutes. Process had to be repeated to remove the yellow/orange undertone.
Step 4: Tone with Redken Shades EQ
Roots: 1oz 8N + 1oz 8GB + 2oz Solution 10 minutes
Mids & Ends: 2oz 9T + 2oz Solution pulled through for 7 minutes
Step 5: Rinse and apply Olaplaex Step 2 for 7 minutes.
Step 6: Shampoo with Oribe Bright Blonde shampoo and conditioner. Send client home with Olaplaex step 3 At Home Care.
