"Don't you love when a client sits in your chair and tells you to do whatever you want!?" asks Emily Johnson (@eljohnson14) of Southern Roots Salon and Spa, Chattanooga, TN. "Well, I DO!" Johnson sent us this transformation to share with you.

"Whenever I do a color melt/ombré  I typically start at the bottom and work my way up," she adds. "I find it easier for the foils or Meche to stick better together it makes it much easier to work with. I usually start at the nape and work my way up then do the sides so totaling 3 sections."

Here she shares the HOW TO:

All colors are from Pravana
2oz of Wild Orchid and 2oz of Magenta equally mixed
1oz of Orange
1oz Yellow and Neon Yellow equally mixed
1/2oz of Red
1oz 3N

Step 1: Base 1inch of regrowth with 3n with 10vol in Pravana
Step 2: Starting at the bottom and working up, start with thin slices of equal parts vivid yellow and neon yellow
Step 3: Place Embee Meche reusable foil over the yellow and make another slice of orange melted into the vivid yellow and neon yellow mix
Step 4: Place another Embee Meche over the orange and yellow and apply vivid red into orange
Step 5: Repeat the same foiling step and apply a thin slice of yellow
Step 6: Repeat the same foiling step and apply equal parts vivid magenta and wild orchid as the top color. Repeat throughout the hair in 3 sections. Process according to manufacturers instructions and shampoo.
