Jessica Mendieta  (@jessdomyhair) of the Butterfly Loft (@butterflyloftsalon) in Los Angeles, CA., had a challenge. "My client came in to me with a very interesting color! Anywhere I parted her hair, there was a different color pattern! I have always loved the challenge of a color correction, but this one definitely made me think a little bit harder." With so many different harsh lines, Mendieta wasn't sure where to begin. "I literally sat down and thought about it and then went for it. The results were absolutely beautiful, my client was shocked."


Here Mendieta shares the HOW TO:

Formula A: Equal parts Wella Illumina 6/16 + Wella Color Touch 1.9%
Formula B: Moroccanoil Hydrating Masque
Formula C: Wella Blondor Powder Lightener + 10 volume developer
Formula D: Wella Blonder Powder Lightener + 15 volume developer
Formula E: Equal parts Wella Illumina 7/81 + Wella Color Touch 1.9%

Application
Step 1: Apply Formula A on roots, and then fan color down about 3 inches. Process for 15 minutes and rinse. Towel dry.
Step 2: Apply Formula B all over and process under the dryer with plastic cap for 20 minutes. Rinse and blow dry hair with paddle brush.
Step 3: Alternate 1/2 inch sections, using a balayage and baby highlight technique using Formula C on the back quadrants and Formula D on the front. Process for 20 minutes, then rinse.
Step 4: Apply Formula E all over the hair. Process for 15 minutes, then rinse. Shampoo and condition. Then blow dry and style as desired!
