TRANSFORMING TO ROSE GOLD: Striking But Soft On The Eye

Presley Poe (@presleypoe) a Platform artist and Artistic Educator based at The Parlour in St. John's  Portland, Oregon, specializes in color corrections had an opportunity to do something interesting with this client.  "She first came to see me almost 6 months ago for a heavy balayage. This was her second round in my chair. She is extremely low maintenance about her hair so we chose something that would have a beautiful grow out and would be less damaging to her hair than lifting to a level 10.  This is also her first vivid application so we wanted something soft on the eye, but striking."

Here Poe shares the steps:

Step 1: Leaving out the new growth, start with the banding from previous color. Apply Pravana Pure Light Power Lightener and 10 volume developer. Lift to a 9.3 matching the ends.

Step 2: To the level 5 new growth apply Pravana Chromasilk 6.22 with ash additive blended with 20 volume.

Step 3: Shampoo and blow dry, making sure not to condition before vivid application.

Step 4: Utilizing the contributing gold pigment already present in the hair as a foundation for our Rose Gold, blend equal parts Pink, Pretty in Pink and a couple drops of Magenta. Leaving out 6.22 base  (making sure not to add any warmth to the cooler base) saturate through to ends.

Step 5: Process for 20 minutes at room temperature.
